CURRENCY:
The currency of Morocco is called the Dirham (pl. Dirhams). Dirham banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 20, 50, 100, and 200 Dirhams.
Smaller values are issued as coins with 1 Dirham = 100 Centimes.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
Local currency in and out is restricted to 1,000 Dirhams.
Foreign currency in and out is free but must be declared if in excess of 100,000 MAD. Exchange receipts should be kept to facilitate reconversion.
CIRCULATION:
The current notes were issued in 1987, 1996 and 2005. Notes of 10 Dirhams have been replaced by coins.
