The Honduran currency is called the Lempira (pl. Lempiras). Lempira banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 500 Lempiras.

CIRCULATION:
Current notes were issued from 1976 to 2000. Older notes are legal tender but outmoded are still redeemable.
