CURRENCY:
The Venezuelan currency is called the Bolivar Fuerte (pl. Bolivares Fuertes). Bolivar banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Bolivares.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
The import and export of local currency is free. Foreign currency import and export over 10,000 USD equivalent require a declaration.
CIRCULATION:
Older "weaK" bolivar are still circulating. These notes are different from the new, "strong" Bolivar because the face values are denominated in 1000, 2000, 5000, 10 000 and 20 000. Guardian will no longer buy the old bolivar. ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES:
All major currencies are accepted.
