The currency of Israel is called the Sheqel (pl. Sheqalim). Sheqel banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 20, 50, 100, and 200 Sheqalim.
Smaller values are issued as coins with 1 Sheqel = 100 Agora.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
The import and export of all currency is free ,
but amounts over 80,000 ILS or equivalent must be declared.
CIRCULATION:
The current series of notes were issued from 1999-2008. The most recently discontinued series of notes is redeemable until December 2010 at Bank of Israel. Notes issued prior to 1984 are worthless.
ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES:
All major currencies are accepted.
