CURRENCY:
The currency of Qatar is called the Riyal (pl. Riyals). Riyal banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500 Riyals.
Smaller values are issued as coins with 1 Riyal = 100 Dirhems.

The import and export of all currencies is free.
CIRCULATION:
The current series of notes were issued from 2003 through 2007. Older notes issued by the Qatar Central Bank are redeemable until 15 June 2013.
