The currency of Bahrain is called the Dinar (pl. Dinars). Dinar banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 0.50, 1, 5, 10, and 20 Dinars.
Smaller values are issued as coins with 1 Dinar = 1000 Fils.

Local and foreign currency may be imported and exported for free.
CIRCULATION:
The current series of notes for Bahrain was issued from 1973 through 2008. The Central Bank of Bahrain will still exchange discontinued notes provided they are larger than 1/2 Dinar.(500 Fils)
