What do I need to tell the trader?

When you call, please let us know the following:

 

1. The Currency and Amount

2. Whether you are Buying or Selling

3. How you will pay Guardian (Cash, Draft, Wire etc...)

4. When you would like to conduct the transaction

5. What currency you would like to receive

6. How Guardian will pay you (Cash, Draft, Wire etc...)

 

Can I hold an Exchange Rate?  With the exception of weekends, foreign-exchange rates change constantly - 24 hours a day.  In the last few months the market has become increasingly volatile and, at this point, it is not always possible for us to hold rates quoted over the phone to our individual clients.  As always we shall try to deliver the best rates for all our customers. 

Where can I view rates? At the present time, Guardian does not display exchange rates online. You are welcome to call a trader for a current rate.  You can view indication rates on the Bank of Canada website. Any currency exchange rates you view on the Bank of Canada website or other public sources are for indication purposes only.
