CURRENCY:
The currency of China is called the Yuan. Chinese banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 0.10, 0.20, 0.50, 1, 2, 5, 10, 50, and 100 Yuan.

Chinese 2 Yuan note
Smaller values are issued as coins, with 1 Yuan = 10 Jiao = 100 Fen.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
Up to 6000 Yuan may be imported and exported. Foreign currency may be imported for free, with amounts over 5000 United States Dollars equivalent requiring a declaration. Foreign currency may be exported up to the amount imported and declared.

CIRCULATION:
The current series of notes were issued in 1980. A new series was introduced in October 1999 with the release of a new 100 Yuan note.
