CURRENCY:
The currency of Estonia is called the Kroon (pl. Krooni). Kroon banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, and 500 Krooni.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
Local and foreign currency may be imported for free up to amounts 80,000 Krooni. Amounts over 80,000 Krooni must be declared and amounts over 200,000 must include source of funds.

CIRCULATION:
The Krooni was first issued in 1991. A new series of notes with improved security features was introduced in 1999 with the 100 Krooni note(pictured above).

ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES:
German, Canadian, Swiss, Finnish, French, English, Swedish and American currencies are most the most acceptable alternatives.
