CURRENCY:
The currency of Iceland is called the Krona (pl. Kronur). Krona banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 500, 1000, 2000, and 5000 Kronur.

Smaller values are issued as coins with 1 Krona = 100 Eyrir.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
Local and foreign currency may be imported and exported for free.

CIRCULATION:
The current series of notes were issued 1961 and re-issued in 1986. Notes of 10, 50 and 100 Kronur issued in 1961 and 1986 remain redeemable.

All major currencies.

Future:
A note of 10,000 Kronur is in development.
