The currency of Argentina is called the Peso (pl. Pesos).
Peso banknotes are issued in the following
denominations: 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Pesos.
Smaller values are issued as coins,
with 1 Peso = 100 Centavos.

CURRENCY IMPORT/EXPORT RESTRICTIONS:
Currency import and export restrictions have changed frequently since the economic crisis in 2001.
Check with Argentine customs before travelling there.

Many outmoded notes are still redeemable.
ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES:
US Dollars are widely accepted. The central government, as well as some provinces issue their
own notes, valued at par with the Peso.
